Don’t answer the foolish arguments of fools, or you will become as foolish as they are.
Don’t waste your breath on fools, for they will despise the wisest advice
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Galatians 1:10

Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.

I love how the author of this post elaborates how I oftentimes feel.
An excerpt from Bebo Bharwani’s Under the Sun:
Meaningless, meaningless, everything is meaningless under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 1:2
In other words, the things you dream of, the stuff that keeps you up late at night, that you’ve been working hard for, you’ve been hunting down―all eventually amounts to nothing.
…
If there is one thing to remember from Solomon’s essay, this statement might give us the perspective we need:
He (God) has also set eternity in the hearts of men.
Ecclesiastes 3: 11
Somehow, God took something bigger than the space and time continuum and stuck it in the core of our existence; and here we are trying fill the bottomless abyss with “stuff”. Go figure!
…
There is a hunch that long before our heads could even begin to process the insatiable hunger, our hearts have always known that it needed something more than just the material. The very reason you continue to long, hope, dream and desire―to the point of aching―is because ultimately, your soul is trying to inform you that it is frantically desperate for the one thing that is truly eternal. God.

Make This Season Count. Radiate love.
Take time to reflect on this version of the most popular chapter on love.
1 Corinthians 13 - Christmas version
If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights and shiny balls, but do not show love, I’m just another decorator.
If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime, but do not show love, I’m just another cook.
If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home and give all that I have to charity, but do not show love, it profits me nothing.
If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties and sing in the choir’s cantata but do not focus on Christ, I have missed the point.
Love stops the cooking to hug the child.
Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the husband.
Love is kind, though harried and tired.
Love doesn’t envy another’s home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens.
Love doesn’t yell at the kids to get out of the way, but is thankful they are there to be in the way.
Love doesn’t give only to those who are able to give in return but rejoices in giving to those who can’t.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.
Video games will break, pearl necklaces will be lost, golf clubs will rust, but giving the gift of love will endure.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Ephesians 4:31-32

So you too, when you have done everything you were commanded to do, should say, ‘We are slaves undeserving of special praise; we have only done what was our duty.’
“I’m sorry, Peter, but water walking is for messiahs only.” — No, God did not say that. Believe and let Him work mightily thru you.
The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear Him; He also hears their cry and saves them.
Sometimes we are confused. Let’s go back to The Law.
Cursed are those who give the name of good to evil, and of evil to what is good: who make light dark, and dark light: who make bitter sweet, and sweet bitter! Isaiah 5:20 (BBE)
Poor women speak on RH; is anyone listening?
An excerpt from Poor women speak on RH; is anyone listening?:
“Oo nga, kasalanan sa Diyos ’yan. Pero siguro hindi mo naman gagawin ’yan kung walang dahilan. Kasi para sa akin, mas kasalanan kung halimbawa bubuhayin mo siya na maghihirap din siya.”
Perennial law still lies: “Thou shall not kill”. A sin cannot be solved by an another sin. It is now a matter of deciding which one: putting blood into one’s hands or letting God give life if He pleases. If one must suffer the consequences, then suffer, while still having faith.
God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad. Ecclesiastes 12:14
“… Pero siguro maiintindihan din ’yon ng Diyos kasi hindi ko totally kasalanan ang nangyari sa akin. Kumbaga biktima lang ako ng karahasan, ng rape.”
Raping is the sin of the rapist but abortion will be on the blood of the taker of life. God still punished Adam who blamed his wife, Eve, for giving in to sin. (Genesis 3)
“For we are responsible for our own conduct.” Galatians 6:5 (NLT)
